Customer Need/Request:

The City of Windsor wanted to quickly refresh an existing shade structure at one of its public parks, Remington Booster Park. This pre-existing pool-side shade structure was no longer providing optimal shade coverage, and was in need of an upgrade.

A bright teal commercial shade sail fabric stretched tight over an existing concrete and steel frame structure. A wooden picnic table and concrete bench sit under the canopy, with a green playground visible across a fence under a sunny sky.
Manufacturing & Installation Overview

The Process of Making and Installing the Shade:

SInce this job had a pre-existing framework, all that was needed was a new fabric canopy and some support beams to attach the shade sail to. No post work required.

After taking the necessary measurements, our design team got to work on the drawings for the new shade sail. Working with our sewing team, the fabric was laid out, marked up, and cut out, ready for the stitch work to begin. After sewing and reinforcing the fabric shade with UV-resistant thread, a cable is fed through the edged pockets that will be used when the shade gets installed. This cable is a fundamental part of the tensioning sytem to get the fabric perfectly tensioned to ensure there is no sagging.

With the hardware securely instact, this shade is ready for a quick installation at Remington Booster Park, just in time for pool season!

This is a great example of a budget-friendly way to freshen up an existing shade structure and provide effective shade to the community.

Thank you to the City of Windsor for the opportunity to shade this park!
